Virgin Megastores are an instantly recognisable high street brand. As an employer they receive hundreds of applications to work at their high street locations each week, which need to be sifted quickly. In a fast moving business sector, they also need to ensure that talented staff are promoted or recruited into management roles as appropriate.
Virgin Megastores invited Academy to overhaul their selection processes both for retail staff and Management Selection within the store network.
Academy designed processes around the Virgin Brand Values, known internally as “Virgin Vitals” which focus on the key ethos of the Virgin culture, namely, Quality orienation, Teamwork , Exceptional Customer Service, An objective driven approach .Working with these company standards ensured that those selected were a match in terms of culture fit and experience. Academy designed application forms, a telephone interview process and a competency based interview for the Retail Sales roles. For Management Selection A Full Assessment/ Development Centre Process was developed involving. Group Exercises , Presentations, Assessment and Testing, and a competency based interview.Initially this process has also been delivered by Academy.
